How do you spell exonerate?

'n Artikel wat in die Bathurst plaaslike koerant verskyn het oor die Spelling Bee kompetisie. Baie geluk, Pieta! Ons is baie trots op jou!! How do you spell exonerate? BY LOUISE EDDY 18/09/2008 11:48:00 There were some pretty tricky words flying around when 20 schools took part in the regional final of the Premier's Spelling Bee yesterday. Words like emphysema, and exonerate proved stumbling blocks for some, while others fought on. Kelso Public School was the only local school to take part in the competition which saw children travel from Parkes, Forbes, Cowra, Orange, Mudgee and Lithgow. Anticipation built steadily as parents and students packed into the school hall. The Kelso team, made up of Mark Withers Year 6, Joseph Nightingale Year 4, Matthew Nightingale Year 4 and Keerthana Mohan Year 5, performed well. However, the junior section was won by Alicia Young of Oberon Public School, followed by Jamie Smith of Forbes North Public School. The senior division was won by Peter Deacon of Kandos Public School with Aden Samimi-Duncan of Canobolas Public School coming in as the runner up. The event is one of 32 regional finals being held across the state. "The students have been putting in many hours of extra study in preparation for the final and I congratulate them on getting to this stage of the Premier's Spelling Bee Challenge," Mr Martin said. "The Premier's Spelling Bee was introduced in 2004 and is part of the NSW Government's $616 million, four year investment to further improve literacy and numeracy rates at NSW public schools," he added.
